A few images of the proposed Jebel al Jais Mountain Resort in Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates

Although still at the concept stage the spectacular mountain location of the Ras Al-Kaimah resort, in the UAE, is already being used as a place to go to escape from the stress of everyday life. But now the resort it’s self is in need of an escape from the large number of visitors who take part in survival trips and discovery tours, plus there is also the new breed of tourist wanting to take the eco-expedition. The increase in tourist means that the resort needs to develop but rather then just do what 99 percent of other tourist places do and put up large and ugly hotels the Ras Al-Kaimah resort has decided to go a slightly different route.

The new resort will be built in small parts dotted along the new Jebel al Jais road and will include not only the new resort but a number of villas, a bridge, a cantilever visitor center and a dam. Each part has been designed to work with the local landscape and offer a range of accommodation and experiences for visitor.

This looks like an amazing project, similar to the Skywalk viewing platform at the Grand Canyon, in the USA.
